My name’s Steve. I started out as an electronics engineer in the RAF, then went into software development, design, and quality assurance. Later, as I got older – managing teams and software projects.

My partner Judith and I retired about 10 years ago. The thing we most like to do is travel together. We’re not intrepid travellers; we don’t go trekking in the Amazon Rain Forests. We do hotels rather than tents. We used to do things like white water rafting, but now it’s more of your winery tours. A pool bar will trump a remote temple – a catered river cruise will easily beat a 4-wheel drive to see some elephants. You get the picture.
I’ve always enjoyed writing. This blog gives me the ‘creative outlet’ that covers my experiences through what’s left of this life. Travel, food, wine, beer – a good retirement, while I have the time and energy. I don’t want to make any money from it; I don’t want to be on the telly. I just want to write stuff.
